Pastel Candy Buffet

This week I’m breaking down JRIM’s DIY Pastel Candy Buffet moodboard into a step-by-step guide. Here’s the colour pallete if you need it!

We’re back with more crepe paper tassels in this setup, to see a tutorial on how to make them, click here.

If you’re wondering where I got my candy from, I got it all from Tesco! Somehow, breaking the bank for candy didn’t seem like a thing I wanted to do so instead I got all of my childhood favorites from gummy hearts, marshmallows, chocolate hearts covered in gold foil, lychee candy and jelly beans. If you’re really on a budget and looking to buy a lot of candy, get them from the snacks and candy buckets that’s sold by weight (I got my jelly beans this way, the colors were mixed though).

Getting candy that matched my pastel theme was super important to me as it ties the whole look together! Going on a pastel route is great because lots of candy comes in white and pink. I had used RM 80.00 worth of candy for this whole look (not including the cake, of course).

For the full tutorial, watch the gif with the written instructions below!

Instructions:

  1. Place the table in your desired location.
  2. Secure the tassel garland on the wall and distribute the tassel evenly across the length of the table.
  3. Place the apothecary jars on the table according to size, tallest in the middle and working outwards to smaller jars.
  4. Place the cake stand in the middle of the second half of the table.
  5. Pour the candy into the jars. A good tip here is that, marshmallows are great at filling up large cannisters. They’re big and fluffy, so a bag or two goes a long way!
  6. Place the cake on the cake stand, and reposition any of the glasswares to balance things out (if required). And.. you’re done!
